After reading some articles (including your's), I am so intrigued by the ocutpus and their capabilities. I also watched some video's and it is just breath taking what they can do with their color and texture to blend in. I love to read about the research that is going on, please keep up the research and I will continue reading!!
Cindy Ruiz, Denver ColoradoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7494280251616036004.post-4693466421489236292010-07-03T15:59:59.367-04:002010-07-03T15:59:59.367-04:00Hi,

As you probably know, even this large species has a surprisingly brief life span.

I don't think this study used E. dolfleini because it is common in public aquariums. I suspect it is much more likely that species was chosen because it is very common and easily collected near the Seattle aquarium where the first author worked. I would have liked to see them duplicate their experiments with the small Octopus rubescens, also very common in the same area. It seems to me that the sheer size of the E. dolfleini brain relative to that of other - much smaller - octopus brains might also influence the comparability of the results.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16235848234324208604noreply@blogger.com
